Credit deduction happens up front
WhenPOST /api/v1/generate is accepted, credits are deducted immediately, before the job enters the queue. If the job ends failed, the credits are refunded automatically. You do not pay for engine failures.
What is not refunded: jobs you cancel yourself after they were successfully dispatched, and requests rejected before a job was created (so those never deducted anything).
How the price is calculated
The server looks up the price in the following order and stops at the first match:1
quality:resolution
For image models that have both keys, for example
low:2K.2
resolution:duration
Combinations such as
720p:15; the check tolerates order and the trailing s.3
duration
A single override per duration, for example
"30": 15.4
resolution
A single override per resolution, for example
"4K": 2.5
creditsDefault
The model’s base price.
resolution: "720p", duration: "30" can cost more than duration: "15".
Price numbers are set by admins and can change. The only source of truth is
priceMatrix and creditsDefault from GET /api/v1/models — do not copy a price table into your code.Reference cost
Adding a reference image or video does not increase the price today (referenceSurcharge is 0). For motion control models, the reference video’s duration actually determines the output duration — and that duration is what gets billed.
Not enough credits
402. No job is created and no credits are used. The cheapest way to avoid this error is to read your balance before sending a batch — see GET /api/v1/user/credits.
Unlimited packages
An Unlimited purchase grants a time-based quota, not a credit balance. While it is active, generation on eligible models deducts 0 credits and thecreditsCharged field in the response is 0.
There are limits:
- Only certain video/image models are covered by the Unlimited quota. Other models still deduct normal credits even on an Unlimited account. Check eligibility with
unlimited.activefrom/api/v1/user/credits, then match models through the dashboard. - Maximum of 2 concurrent processes. A third is answered
429. - The daily video quota still applies (50 successful videos per day).
